Small Shopping Haul - Boots / Primark

My first mini haul in around a month so I though I would share it with you all :) I only hit up Boots and Primark, for a pay day treat, but I got a couple of things I really liked and wanted for a while! I didn't spend too many pennies either which is always a good thing!

First up - Primark!

Total spent - £12

Hounds tooth scarf £4.
I really really really love hound tooth. Always have done. I also love monochrome, so the two together?Bit of a no brainer that it was going in the basket! I also find hounds tooth to be a bit of a fashion classic / basic. It's always wearable and has no real seasonal fashion to compete with! I'll probably keep my outfit with this pretty simple and let it do the talking!

Bonjour / J'adore make up bags - £4.00
I've been looking for a new make up bag for a while, but I'm really choosy - I really really want the Guinea make up bag by the Zoella beauty range ( you can have a peek at its beauty here), but refuse to spend £8 on a make up bag!But yes, in the search I came across these metalic beauties in Primark and they were a matching set! The smaller 'Bonjour' bag I'll use as my daily make up bag to transport my essentials around in my bag and the bigger 'J'adore' bag I'll use at home or weekends away :)

Gold look tear drop earrings - £1
Nice basic gold look earrings. And they were a bargain. Not much else to say!

Dirty Dancing DVD - £3
This has been a long standing favourite of mine and its one of those that I've always meant to purchase. So I finally did purchase it!

Next up - Boots Haul!

Total spent - £9.59

Bought for ginger hair maintenance! I have been dying my hair ginger now for about a year, as a natural brunette I have to do occasional top ups to keep up with my roots.

Saw this and loved it, really excited about using it. I'm saving it until New Years Eve, when I'll be wearing this set on my nails with a blue sparkly dress!

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed my mini haul!

Very over due Balmi review.

So this has been sat in my drafts for a while! Sorry - I've been super busy with life in general! I ordered this around 5 months a go from Birchbox using my reward points so it was a technical freebie! However, Birchbox does sell them for £4.99. I chose the cool mint Balmi .It's a product I'm going to order again quite soon as I've actually used it up! Which for me is an impressive feat!

Now - on to the important bit - the review!

The Balm felt silky and smooth, easy to apply and made my lips feel and look so hydrated. I suffer from dry cracked lips quite easily so love that the balm worked so well.

I chose the mint Balmi, which meant my lips tingle got their tingle on leaving them feeling cool and refreshed. This also had the added bonus of my lips turning a nice shade of pink from the blood rush caused by the tingle sensation, so I didn't even need to apply a coloured lip balm through the day..! The peppermint oil in the Balmi made it smell absolutely divine - its got a nice subtle mint scent to it and its not overwhelming.

In terms of the packaging, the outer packaging is a pretty standard cardboard with plastic casing design. Really simple to open and shows the brand name quite clearly. Sadly I didn't think to take a picture of the packaging before ripping it open in an excited lip balm lusting frenzy!
The only quibble I have with the packaging is the size ratio of it to the product. Compared to the Balmi cube the packaging it massive. It doesn't seem very environmentally friendly but as a serial recycle-r that may just be me being picky!

The balm comes in a cube shaped container which you twist to open, I quite like this design feature as it makes it look quite cool and different to most lip balms which come in a lipstick twister style casing. The casing also comes with a string key ring meaning you can attach your Balmi to your keys - however I just left mine in my bag or cardigan pocket!

Overall I give this Balmi a 4/5. I love the balm, but I think at £4.99 its a bit pricey and the packaging quibble isn't some thing I'm too keen on. Still, I'm probably going to order this again once I have enough reward points!
